Supporting Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific, the candidate would be supporting a technology transition lab that enables Tactical Data Link (TDL) related technology innovation and the rapid fielding of these capabilities into the Joint Force.

The Systems Engineer II will provide engineering expertise to support emerging platform requirements definition and integration support. They will also provide Systems-of-Systems engineering support in the definition, documentation, execution and analysis of system of systems requirements. Support external testing (e.g., range test, flight test, etc.). Systems Engineer II will conduct technical investigations in systems design and provide technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems. Provide engineering expertise in communication systems, applicable digital and analog hardware design; network design; signal processing; computer architecture; communications protocols; multiplexing; and data bus structures and protocols. Additionally, they will Review functional performance and qualification test plans and procedures, verify complex system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements, and apply system engineering principles and expertise to review and provide technical comments on the specifications and interface documents.
Required:
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience performing management, reduction, and analysis of data, designing tests, and laboratory analyses, including scientific analyses and interpretation of research results for C4ISR systems.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience with system of systems design and development to C4ISR systems.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience architecting, reviewing, analyzing, testing and modifying systems of systems designs and implementations for C4ISR systems.
Desired:
Experience (Five years within the past 10 years):
  • Experience performing management, reduction, and analysis of data, designing tests, and laboratory analyses including scientific analyses and interpretation of research results for C4ISR systems.
  • Experience with system of systems design and development to C4ISR systems.
  • Experience architecting, reviewing, analyzing, testing and modifying systems of systems designs and implementations for C4ISR systems.
  • Experience with open architecture constructs like Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA), Command, Control Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C5ISR)/Electronic Warfare Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS), Open Mission Systems (OMS), Open Communication Standard (OCS); utilizing the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI).
  • Experience with LPD (Low Probability of Detection) and LPI (Low Probability of Intercept) waveforms and anti-jam capabilities communication capabilities
(g) Security Clearance Requirement:
Existing final DoD Top Secret level security clearance/eligibility based on current SSBI/T5/T5R and be enrolled in Continuous Vetting with the ability to obtain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Current ICD 704 eligibility preferred.
