Position Purpose: Manage the planning, communication, and implementation of Petco local brand initiatives to include production timelines, content coordination, production scheduling, follow-through/ approvals, and cross-functional outreach with appropriate associates and departments. This position is composed of a variety of different tasks, few of which are covered by general operating procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Manage the planning, communication and implementation of key marketing projects in support of assigned Marketing area, to include vendor agreements, marketing calendars, UPC requests, creative approval/briefing process, and cross-functional timeline and deliverable support.

  • Develop and coordinate the production of internal communication pieces such as planners, information/action memos, signage, Intranet, and bulletin messages as they relate to communication of special national projects for assigned Marketing area.

  • Manage the creation and distribution of all program collateral and communication, including drafting original copy as required and coordinating production scheduling.

  • Collaborate with the merchandising team to build marketing plans with concrete reporting, measurement and analytics as part of the assigned program initiatives.

  • Communicate details of promotional plans across the organization to ensure flawless execution of marketing program. Communications will align with assigned marketing area; such as stores, support departments, field partners, District Managers, Pet Services, CMO, etc.

  • Compile post-mortem analysis from COEs and aggregate into digestible format for Marketing team.

  • Coordinate and communicate in-store or in department product and promotional messaging including troubleshooting any store issues with advertised promotional events for assigned marketing area.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Work Environment: The majority of job duties are performed while seated indoors with little or no exposure to hazards. Less than 20% travel is required.

Education (Required): requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in marketing, advertising or business relations is required.

Work Experience (Required): Minimum 4-6 years progressively responsible related marketing experience managing events, projects and/or promotions and project budgets/timelines preferably in a multi-unit retail environment.

Must also have experience in developing collateral materials (offline and digital) and communications packages for internal distribution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to create, implement and troubleshoot promotional planners that include writing and communicating instructions and strategy to external agencies as well as internal personnel. In addition, candidates must be familiar with a Windows environment and be able to create and manipulate documents and spreadsheets as necessary. Must be able to handle multiple projects successfully in a faced paced environment.

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
