Job Description

Under general supervision, this position will be responsible for the management of Cardiac Event Monitor results. Must have the ability to perform basic clerical procedures including scheduling, filing and answering phone calls. Must demonstrate and maintain knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients. Provides training for new hires, coworkers, cardiology fellows, physicians and other departments on processes and equipment as needed. Must understand medical terminology. Position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize demands, and the ability to work in a team environment. This position will also serve as a back-up to the EKG Tech and may be required to perform EKG, Adult Blood Pressure Monitor Placement/Removal, Holter Monitor Placement/Removal and Event Monitor Placement. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Epic Experience Highly Desired
- Cardiology Experience Highly Desired, specifically with Cardiac Event Monitors Zio, BioTel, and Preventice.
- Certificate in ECG.
- Previous experience in a similar setting or other relevant clinical experience applicable to the position.
- Understanding of basic ECG principles, acquisition and interpretation.
- Microsoft Excel experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $50,321 - $62,640 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $24.10 - $30.00
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
