Acara Solutions has been providing advanced manufacturing firms nationally with our staffing related services for over 65 years. We currently have a 3-6 month contract position for an Embedded Engineer. This contractor can work onsite or hybrid (coming in weekly) in San Diego. This is at a Sr, Sr Staff, or Principal experience level.

- Design, develop, implement and test RF drivers for SoC products.

- Work with RF and Systems teams to understand requirements and write clear documents that describes software procedures, high level design and detailed design.

- Understand existing implementation from source code, modify and support bug fixing.

- Hands on testing using lab equipment such as testers, power supplies, temp chambers etc.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

BSEE with a min of 15 years of experience in embedded software, or a MSEE and 10 years min experience. This experience should also include:

- Expert level in C programming is a must along with debugging using industry standard embedded tools such as J-Link, OpenOCD etc.

- Working knowledge in Python is a must.

- Working knowledge in Git/Gitlab/JIRA.

- Prior experience in developing device drivers for RF circuits in an SoC and familiarity in Wi-Fi and BT/BLE standards.

- Understanding of radio impairments and software-based compensation techniques.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Ability to break down complex problems and evaluate tradeoffs between proposed solutions
